The Chesterfields came to prominence in 86 in an underground scene that turned its back on over-produced chart music. Bands, labels, promoters, fanzines making their own entertainment, with The June Brides, The Wedding Present, Primal Scream and The Loft leading the way, supported by John Peel and Janice Long. They released 3 albums (‘Kettle' #2 indie charts) + 5 singles (‘Ask Johnny Dee’ #3)
